Torrance, Los Angeles County
Torrance Beach is a mile and a half of sand at the south end of Santa Monica Bay, tucked below the bluffs where the Palos Verdes Peninsula begins. The paved beach path that starts 22 miles north in Pacific Palisades ends here. Inland, the city founded in 1912 as a planned industrial town still has its original tree-lined downtown streets.
